Dr Pat Nash talks to SKGAA

Dr Pat Nash, cardiologist and clinical lead of the Saolta Hospital Group, took time out to answer questions from club members this week.

Top class camogie teams!!

On Sunday 24th May, we had a quiz especially for the under 10 and under 12 girls. Kahoot kicked into action again and topics ranged from Brian Boru to Annelise Murphy! The only problem was: these girls were too smart and knew all the answers. Great fun and well done to all who took part, and Róisín O’Shea for organising. On the podium was… with brownies on their way to the winners!

Getting to know your club

Noel Tyrell organised a super virtual quiz for all players on Sunday 17 May. Questions covered all aspects of our SKGAA and even the most seasoned participants learned something new about the club! It was a most enjoyable evening, and a big thank you to all who joined in.

A few more gems to be revealed

Watch out for John Daly on social media – he’ll be bringing you news of a fun event for all ages, happening soon.

Meet the Club coming shortly also…

Activities to date

Eoin O’Donnellan brought us on a rapid tour of Salthill football in his time – and a rousing rendition of Red is the Rose, in the April sunshine in the Prairie.
The under 12s across the club took part in a super (virtual) quiz on Sunday 26 April, 6.30pm. Speed of reaction off the pitch was a key element. Good fun – and coming soon, a quiz for some other groups.

Sean Costello sings for SKGAA

In a special performance for our club, famous Galway tenor Sean Costello related his experience of contracting and recovering from Covid 19, and he gave us wonderful performance of Galway Bay and the West’s Awake.
Performing for us in the wonderful sunshine of his back garden in Salthill, Sean reflected on his experiences and brought kindness and hope to us all in these strange times. A true gentleman: Thank you Sean.

A big thank you to Darren Frehill and John Daly for organising this.
